Hazel Grove and Marple

Areas Covered: Offerton, Offerton Green, Davenport, Woodsmoor, Stepping Hill, Hazel Grove, Bredbury, North Woodley, Bredbury Green, Marple Bridge, Marple North, Marple South, High Lane.
No crime statistics as yet as the police post is still vacant and is unlikely to be filled until next year, but here is information on some meetings and the police priorities for each area. Please do let me know if these are useful.

Meetings
Werneth PaCT meeting 2:00PM - 3:30PM, Mon 22 September 2025 Bredbury Libary

Marple Area Committee - Wednesday, 22nd October, 2025 6.00 pm Main Hall - Marple Senior Citizen's Hall
Stepping Hill Area Committee - Tuesday, 2nd December, 2025 6.00 pm Committee Room 2, Town Hall, Stockport.
The PaCT meeting is organised by the police and they invite representatives from the council. Anyone can attend and ask questions and join in discussions in the meeting.

Priority: Across the Werneth area our priority to is tackle shoplifting. Issued 15 September 2025
Action taken: Working with shop owners and their staff we have proactively patrolled hotspots at peak times, using overt and covert tactics. These offenders who target the local retailers are being identified by the ward neighbourhood officers too. Actioned 15 September 2025
Priority: Tackle Anti-Social Behaviour Issued 15 September 2025
Action taken: We frequently carry out Hi-Vis and plain clothes patrols of known hotspots.
Working with Youth Workers to engagement with young people who are identified to be involved in Anti-Social Behaviour. Actioned 15 September 2025
Priority: Tackle drug dealing/usage. Issued 25 June 2025
Action taken: Using intelligence that is provided by members of the community to carry our Warrants to disrupt criminal activity. Carry out regular patrols in hotspots. Actioned 25 June 2025

Marple North

Priority: Illegal use of Electric & Combustion Type Off Road Bikes on the Highway and Public Spaces. Issued 15 September 2025
Action taken: Officers are collating intelligence in regard to Anti-Social Behaviour linked to illegal off-road motorbikes in the area and are proactively patrolling hotspot areas during their shift. In addition, we are seeking Warrants using information provided by residents. Actioned 15 September 2025
Priority: Residential burglary / vehicle theft Issued 15 September 2025
Action taken: The team have been carrying visits in areas were there has been a burglary and will canvas the area to provide residence with crime prevention advice, and carry out reassurance visits. Actioned 15 September 2025. Actioned 25 June 2025

Action taken: Your local neighbourhood officers will be working in partnership to reduce theft of vehicles and prevent anti-social riding of vehicles. We will be visible in the area and taking positive action. Actioned 25 June 2025

Action taken: Your local neighbourhood officers will be providing dedicated patrols to deter offending and providing crime prevention advice to victims of crime. Working alongside the Neighbourhood Crime Team we will be hunting down and bringing offenders of burglary to justice. Actioned 25 June 2025
